Katarina is a cross-disciplinary creative design practitioner, highly skilled in textile, manufacturing and product innovation. Drawing on over 15 years of higher education at world-renowned colleges such as Central Saint Martins and Parsons, Katarina's consultancy specialisms are sustainable and responsible fashion, alternative business models, material provenance and purpose-driven design.

After spending 15 years working in fashion retail management, Utami transitioned towards branding and marketing where she helped to grow Pinatex into the renowned sustainable material it is known as today. Following from Pinatex, Utami became a consultant in commercial branding, marketing and business development. One of the key projects she developed is a standardised book for sustainable products and production in a region of Indonesia. In addition to her work as a consultant, Utami is the founder and CEO of RekaLagam, which produces natural pigments from waste generated mining, agriculture, food and forestry industries.
